St.Anthonys' Church - Whacotte

Tucked away in the hinterland of the Island of Sri Lanka, some 85 miles from the capital Colombo and 36 miles from the ancient capital Kandy, along the Matale/Galewela highway lies a little villlage inhabited entirely by Catholics Wahacotte. Here, is the site of the time honoured shrine of St. Anthony of Padua. The feast day of the Saint is celebrated on the Sunday following the 13th of June.
